Ms. Makedon utilizes a collaborative approach to treatment that includes interventions from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). She has worked in various settings including a private practice, college campus, outpatient setting, and a foster care agency. Prior to joining MindWell NYC, Ms. Makedon was a therapist and supervisor at a former private practice. She worked with adolescents, adults, families, and couples as well as conducted group therapy for young adults navigating life transitions.
With directness, compassion, a non-judgmental approach, and a touch of humor, Ms. Makedon cultivates a safe and empowering telehealth environment where individuals can be their unedited and raw versions of themselves. She earned her M.S. in mental health counseling from Queens College, and her B.A. in Psychology from Adelphi University.
