Create, Sustain, and Grow Your Own Group Practice
You don’t need an MBA to run a successful private practice. All it takes is a bit of preparation, some self-education, a reliable support system, and a willingness to tolerate risk and uncertainty. These are things we teach our clients all of the time and Jessica will help you apply these skills to yourselves! If you’re ready to take that first step toward launching the practice you have always dreamed of, this book will provide you with the knowledge, confidence, and clarity to turn that dream into a reality.

Here's What Others Have to Say
“Comprehensive, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and written for the modern therapist, this book should be taught in every clinical psychology graduate program. I wish I had this book when I was in graduate school.” –Agnes Selinger, PhD, Author of Anxiety Relief Workbook for Kids
What does private practice consulting look like at MindWell NYC?
You will hop on an initial call with Jessica (approximately 30 minutes) to discuss your goals and what you are struggling with. Based on where you are in your private practice development, Jessica will tailor a program to work through with you to identify your next steps and get you moving. For example, if you are just getting started or still making a decision about whether or not to open a practice, she will walk you through managing worry thoughts, deciding what kind of practice to open, identifying what you want that to look like, and utilizing your support system to help you move forward more swiftly.
If you are running a practice already and have specific challenges you would like to target (for ex.: hiring, staff or physical location expansion, client satisfaction, tackling administrative tasks while running a clinical practice, deciding what direction to take your business, relational challenges), Jessica will provide you with a plan to address these problems directly and apply the clinical skills needed to help you manage these situations with more ease.
How Private Practice Consulting Works
1. Initial Consultation & Goal Setting
We begin with an initial consultation to understand where you are in your private practice journey and what challenges you’re currently facing. This helps clarify your goals, priorities, and the type of support that will be most helpful at this stage.
2. Assessment of Practice Needs
Together, we explore key areas of your practice, such as business structure, decision-making, systems, boundaries, and professional identity. This process helps identify obstacles, opportunities, and areas where greater clarity or direction is needed.
3. Personalized Consulting Plan
Based on your goals, we create a tailored consulting approach that supports your specific needs. Sessions may focus on strategy, problem-solving, leadership development, or translating clinical skills into sustainable business practices.
4. Skill Building & Real-World Application
Consulting sessions emphasize practical application. You’ll work on implementing changes between sessions, gaining confidence in decision-making, and developing systems that support long-term growth and balance.
5. Ongoing Support & Adjustments
As your practice evolves, consulting adapts with you. Some clinicians seek short-term guidance around a specific transition, while others continue with ongoing support as new challenges or opportunities arise.
