Dr. Slavin also works as a research scientist at Columbia University. She is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the American Psychological Association. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences in the areas of substance use disorders, behavioral addictions, sexual and reproductive health, and trauma.
Prior to joining Virtual MindWell, Dr. Slavin completed her predoctoral internship at the Yale-affiliated Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System, where she provided individual and group psychotherapy in inpatient and outpatient settings for a wide array of mental health issues including substance use disorders, PTSD, sexual-related issues, mood and anxiety disorders, and insomnia. Additionally, she completed externships at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Hospital, a community-based clinic, and several criminal justice settings.
Dr. Slavin earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University at Albany, and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
