Dr. Danielle Weiss Byrne, Ph.D.

Dr. Danielle Weiss Byrne (she/her) is a post-doctoral fellow at MindWell NYC. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), parent management training (PMT), and motivational interviewing (MI). She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy and has experience providing individual and group therapy to individuals across the lifespan. Dr. Byrne has a particular interest in providing evidence-based treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, depression, and adjustment to new or difficult life circumstances.

Dr. Byrne has trained across multiple settings, including hospitals and community mental health clinics. Prior to joining MindWell NYC, Dr. Byrne completed her predoctoral internship at the Village for Families & Children, where she was part of a multidisciplinary team providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, families, and caregivers. She has also trained at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, Sinai Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Byrne is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Division 54: Society of Pediatric Psychology and Division 53: Child Clinical and Adolescent Psychology.

Dr. Byrne earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
