Dr. Treene’s approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their concerns and build meaningful change. Her training spans various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, and academic environments, providing her with a comprehensive perspective on evidence-based care. She has extensive experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, suicidality, OCD, trauma, and behavioral challenges, as well as facilitating DBT skills groups and parent coaching sessions.
Prior to joining MindWell NYC, Dr. Treene completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Center for Anxiety in Brooklyn. Dr. Treene has also had previous clinical placements at Weill-Cornell/NewYork Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center on their child and adolescent inpatient units and has experience in outpatient settings such as NYU Langone Child Study Center and the Rutgers Center for Psychological Services.
Dr. Treene earned her Psy.D. in School Psychology from Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology and holds a B.A. in Psychology and Education from Bucknell University. Dr. Treene is also a certified New Jersey School Psychologist.
