Dr. Leah Flanzman, Psy.D.

Dr. Leah Flanzman (she/her) is a post-doctoral fellow at MindWell NYC. She provides individual and group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. She specializes in DBT and treating trauma across the lifespan with extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, and self-harm/suicidality. She has a particular interest in helping individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, emotion dysregulation, and trauma. She also has experience working with substance use disorders, grief, and conducting parenting work. Dr. Flanzman has been extensively trained in DBT, CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and a range of trauma-focused therapies, such as Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Dr. Flanzman provides individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults at MindWell NYC.

Prior to joining MindWell NYC, Dr. Flanzman completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Westchester Jewish Community Services where she provided evidence-based therapeutic services with an emphasis on treating trauma, suicidality, grief, and substance use disorders. She has trained across multiple settings, including schools, private practices, community mental health centers, and community clinics.

Dr. Flanzman received her Psy.D. in school psychology from Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) and her B.A. in psychology from Muhlenberg College.
