Dr. Ierardo is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association. She has presented research on DBT at a university training clinic and her dissertation research investigated the effect of psychoeducation on disorder knowledge, self-awareness, self-esteem, and social behavior in adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Ierardo completed her post-doctoral fellowship at MindWell NYC and her pre-doctoral internship at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She completed externships at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Nassau University Medical Center, and at the college counseling center at Hofstra University. She is trained in CBT and has delivered group and individual treatment for mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, substance abuse, and PTSD. Additionally, Dr. Ierardo has participated in a multidisciplinary DBT consultation team, co-led multifamily DBT skills groups, and provided individual DBT therapy to adults.
Dr. Ierardo earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University and her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University.
